Des Moines Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Des Moines man was arrested on felony drug charges over the weekend.

According to court records, a search warrant was executed in Indianola on property where 44-year-old Mart Downing was located. The search produced a syringe with a clear liquid, and a rolled up baggie that tested positive for methamphetamine. Downing is charged with possession of a controlled substance, normally a serious misdemeanor, but since this was Downing’s third such offense it is classified as a class D felony. Downing was released on a $5,000 bond.
