TAYLOR, MI, May 6, 2025 ~ The Taylor Police Department recently became the second Michigan department to officially partner with ICE to crack down on undocumented immigrants.

The agreement, made on April 28, brought the department into the 287 Program, which lets federal immigration authorities give some immigration enforcement powers to local authorities, such as questioning and detaining non-citizen suspects. The city of Taylor has an immigrant population of over 4,100 people, or 6.6%, as of 2023.
