MICHIGAN, May 12, 2025 ~ The Democrat Primary for Michigan‘s open U.S. Senate seat continues to fill up, with former State House Speaker Joe Tate announcing his Senate bid Sunday.
Rep. Tate (D-Detroit) joins U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11), State Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak), and former Wayne County Health Director Abdul El-Sayed are other Democrats vying for the seat being left vacant by Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) in 2026. Former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers is currently the only candidate in the GOP primary.
