CHICAGO, June 3, 2025Kerry Carpenter turned Rate Field into his personal launchpad Tuesday night, belting three home runs and powering the Detroit Tigers to a commanding 13–1 victory over the Chicago White Sox in the opener of a four-game series.

Carpenter’s historic performance marked the first three-homer game by a Tiger since Victor Martinez in 2016, and it set the tone for a night of dominance by Detroit’s offense. Nearly every Tiger contributed at the plate, but Carpenter’s fireworks stole the show.

The game also marked the return of outfielder Parker Meadows, who wasted no time making an impact. Meadows went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two walks, and a stolen base. He also flashed the leather with several strong plays in the outfield, reminding fans just how dynamic he can be.

Detroit’s offense exploded early and never let up, giving the Tigers a strong start to the series and a boost of momentum heading into the next matchup.

The Tigers and White Sox will meet again Tuesday night at 7:40 p.m. Shane Smith is slated to start for Chicago, while Detroit has yet to announce its starting pitcher.
