MICHIGAN, June 5, 2025 ~ An air quality alert has been issued for much of Michigan, in effect through noon Friday, with recommendations to limit one’s time outdoors.
The air is full of pollutants from wildfires raging in Canada, with the smoke traveling across several states in the U.S., including Michigan, putting Detroit in the top five cities for worst air quality in the world as of Thursday. The counties affected include Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, St. Clair, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Washtenaw, and Wayne.
