LOS ANGELES, June 9, 2025 ~ President Donald Trump authorized 2,000 National Guard members to be deployed on Sunday in Los Angeles after protests over ICE raids took place.
Police unleashed rubber bullets, flash-bang grenades, and tear gas after protestors set vehicles ablaze while blocking the 101 Freeway.

Usually the governor requests it though.”
Tensions have simmered in the streets, but California is now suing the United States for overstepping on California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s power over the California National Guard. California Attorney General Rob Bonta cited the administration’s decision as counterproductive.
