DETROIT, June 9, 2025 ~ EAT Detroit returned to the city for the fourth time, offering food enthusiasts an opportunity to experience Detroit’s diverse food culture and history — all in one night.
The fundraiser supports SAY Detroit’s mission to provide education, health care, and housing to Detroiters in need. The charity was founded by 760 WJR‘s Mitch Albom, who also hosts the event.
EAT Detroit is inspired by Chef José Andrés’ Dine-N-Dash event in Washington, D.C., and brings the same energy and purpose to the Motor City.
“We were seeing other cities do things, and saying, ‘Why can’t we do that in Detroit?’ to doing things in Detroit that have people come and say, ‘That’s really great, we should do that in our city,’” Albom said. “And that’s the way it ought to be.”

This year, 22 restaurants across Corktown and downtown Detroit participated, including local favorites such as Slows Bar BQ, Ottava Via and Leila. With such a wide variety of cuisine, there was something for everyone.
In 2024, EAT Detroit raised $100,000 for SAY Detroit — and this year’s event is on track to top that. The one-night event gave people who love Detroit the chance to enjoy the city’s best food while giving back to the community.
