DETROIT, June 11, 2025 ~ The Detroit Pistons are heading south of the border next season for an international NBA matchup in Mexico City.
The NBA announced yesterday that the Pistons will face the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 1 in a regular-season game. While the full Pistons schedule has not yet been released, the NBA typically announces international games ahead of the full season slate.
“Playing a regular-season game in Mexico City will be a great experience for our players and coaches,” Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon said. “We look forward to showcasing Detroit basketball to an international audience and a passionate, growing NBA fanbase.”

(CONTINUED) Cade Cunningham and the Pistons will square off against a Mavericks team featuring future Hall of Famer Anthony Davis and projected No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg, a standout from Duke. Star guard Kyrie Irving is expected to return from injury in January and is unlikely to play in the Mexico City game.
The Pistons, aiming to take another step toward title contention, will have the opportunity to showcase their young talent on an international stage.
