DETROIT, June 12, 2025 ~ The Detroit Tigers (44-25) allowed seven runs in the 8th inning in a 10-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles (27-39) Wednesday night at Camden Yards.
Starting pitcher Casey Mize posted a solid outing, only allowing two runs in the third frame. Relievers Tyler Holton, Brenan Hanifee, and Beau Brieske faltered in the last four innings, allowing eight combined runs to reach home plate.
Baltimore pitcher Zach Eflin didn’t let runs come easy, throwing five strikeouts with only one walk in 6 2/3 innings. Playing his first ever game at third base at the major league level, Colt Keith recorded the team’s lone run with an RBI double in the 7th inning.
(CONTINUED) Detroit is currently tied with the New York Mets with the most wins in the MLB at 44. The Tigers hold a seven-game lead on the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central division.
The Tigers won the first game of the series and will look to take 2/3 tonight at 6:35 p.m. Cy Young starting pitcher Tarik Skubal will take the mound for Detroit against Dean Kremer.
