DETROIT, June 16, 2025 ~ J.J. Spaun capped off the 2025 U.S. Open with an astounding 64-foot birdie putt on Father’s Day for his first ever major championship.
The 34-year-old was the only golfer to finish under par on the rainy final day at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland rounded out the top three at +1 and +2 respectively.

(CONTINUED) In the only other U.S. Open Spaun had played in, he missed the cut (2021). His highest finish at any major before Sunday was 23rd at the 2022 Masters.
The 2025 Rocket Classic will tee off on Thursday, June 26 at the Detroit Golf Club. Spaun has already committed to the tournament, including top players such as Colin Morikawa and Ben Griffin. Only one more PGA Tour event is scheduled before the Rocket Classic, the Travelers Championship on Thursday, June 19.
