Michigan Lawmakers Listed on Manifesto of Minnesota Shooter

MINNESOTA, June 17, 2025 ~ The man accused of gunning down and killing one Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another along with family members may have had his eye on Michigan legislators, according to documents found by law enforcement.

The names of U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, U.S. Reps. Debbie Dingell, Rashida Tlaib, Shri Thanedar, and Hillary Scholten, as well as Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, were all included in notes written by the suspect, Vance Boelter. It is not clear if the names were on a target list or just mentioned in documents written by Boelter. Police were patrolling and conducting surveillance at lawmakers’ homes both in Washington D.C., and in Michigan.
