DEARBORN, June 19, 2025 ~ The Henry Ford is inviting the entire community to come together and celebrate Juneteenth.
Juneteenth, now a federally recognized holiday, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This day honors the enduring legacy of emancipation and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality.
Taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, the event will feature live performances, historic cooking demonstrations, and interactive family activities. Guests can enjoy music from artists like Selected of God and Sky Covington’s Trio, explore living history reenactments, and participate in youth-centered DJ workshops.
