Shooter at Metro Detroit Church Identified by Police

WAYNE, MI, June 23, 2025 ~ The gunman who fired shots outside a Wayne church Sunday has been identified as 31-year-old Romulus resident Brian Anthony Browning.

Browning, who was fatally shot at the scene by church security, hit one person when he opened fire outside CrossPointe Community Church during Sunday service. He had been a recent attendee of the church, where his mother is a member, though no motive for the shooting has been established.
